Twenty-one images that document the Charles C. Tobias family homestead in the Dead Horse Canyon area near the Snake River in Canyon County, Idaho. Photographs depict farming and ranching activities near the turn of the 19th Century in Southern Idaho.

This collection contains four black and white photographic prints and one photographic negative. Subjects include the fire station at Twin Falls, agricultural activities related to the Erle. H. Butler farm south of Hansen, Idaho, and the steamboat Lewiston. These photographs are reproductions of originals loaned to the Idaho State Historical Society in 1977.

Collection consists of an original letter (2 p.), envelope, and typewritten transcript of the letter written by Ruia Hurless of Grand View, Idaho. The letter is dated 12 March 1913 and addressed to Irvin and Louis Weckesser of Sterling, Illinois. Ruia Hurless and her husband, C.L. Husless, were both school teachers in Grand View, Idaho. The letter describes the weather and crops grown in the area. She also reports on sturgeon fishing in the Snake River.
